Delivery truck overturns on the M2

[Johannesburg 17 November 2011 10:00]

A light delivery vehicle and bakkie have collided on the M2 just before the Cleveland Road off ramp this morning, leaving 4 men with various injuries.

It is not clear at this stage as to how the accident happened or what the initial cause was, but the bakkie had damage to its front end while the truck was damaged all over as it collided with the barrier after which the driver further lost control and the vehicle rolled. It is believed that one of the vehicles may have veered from the lane that they were traveling in which may have caused the initial impact between the two vehicles.

The man driving the bakkie was left with minor injuries along with the driver of the truck. The two passengers in the truck however, we’re left with severe injuries and they needed immediate treatment. The patients were treated at the incident before being taken to hospital for further care.

The contents of delivery truck was strewn across the freeway and traffic was brought to a stand still while clean up operations were underway.
