[Bronkhorstspruit 05 December 2011 12:30]

A man and a woman have tragically been killed after the vehicle that they were traveling in left the road and rolled near Bronkhorstspruit this afternoon.

A multi purpose vehicle with 6 occupants has rolled off the R25 approximately 10 kilometers from Bronkhorstspruit leaving 2 dead and another 4 injured. The reason that the driver of the vehicle lost control which forced it to leave the road and roll into the field is not know, but as the vehicle came to a halt on its wheels it did not take long for the vehicle to burst into flames.

A man and woman in their late 40’s to early 50’s were pronounced dead at the scene as they had sustained severe injuries, and initial assessment by paramedics revealed that they had no signs of life.

The remaining 4 passengers, 3 men and a woman, were treated for various injuries before being transported to the local provincial hospital.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Police will investigate all necessary aspects of the cause of the fatal accident.
