Car splits in two after hitting tree in Boksburg

The driver and two other occupants of a VW Citi Golf were injured after the car crashed off the road and into a tree, splitting the car in two.

Upon arrival of the paramedics, they found the red Golf in 2 pieces, which had occurred after the impact from the vehicle colliding with the tree off Heidelburg Road in Boksburg. The front engine compartment and body had been completely ripped from the rest of the car. The woman who was driving the vehicle, is 25 years old,, and she needed treatment for a suspected head injury as well as treatment for possible neck and back injuries. She was stabilised on scene before being taken to Tambo Memorial Hospital for further care.

The two other occupants of the vehicle had sustained moderate injuries and received the appropriate treatment on scene before being taken by ambulance to hospital.

There were no other cars involved in the accident, and the police will determine the cause after conducting their necessary investigations.
