1 person has died and another sustained injuries following a single vehicle collision on the N1 highway near the Kroonvaal toll plaza this morning.
The cause of the collision is unclear,but when arriving at the scene ER24 paramedics could see that the collision was severe. The white Isuzu bakkie had allegedly lost control before overturning and was found by the side of the road still on it’s roof.
A man believed to be in his late 30’s was found a few meters from the wrecked bakkie. He had sustained various fatal injuries and was unfortunately later declared dead at the scene. A second man, also believed to be aged in his late 30’s, sustained various cuts and abrasions.
The man received on-scene treatment for shock and minor injuries sustained in the collision. He was later transported to a nearby medical facility for further medical care. Local law enforcement authorities who attended the scene will be investigating the incident further.
