According to Hannika Struwig, marketing manager of Life Rosepark Hospital, “the hospital’s emergency team and their fellow emergency colleagues will be on duty 24/7, during the festive season. John William’s Motors sponsored a Dodge Caliber to the paramedics from Rosepark Hospital to use as an additional response vehicle over the period of the campaign. This will assist them in patrolling the N1, N3 and N6 highways on a full time basis and still be in contact with other services on the different routes. All the services will be able to communicate with each other, while covering a wider stretch of roads, ensuring that there is fast traffic and medical assistance in case of an emergency or at the scene of an accident.

On Friday, 16 December, a promotional activation will be presented at the Shell Ultra City Pitstop in Bloemfontein. The promotional activities will be directed at motorists and residence from the city, ensuring that they and their vehicles are road worthy and geared for the long road.

Various businesses made them available on the day and will deliver assisting services to motorists. Included on the day are glucose and cholesterol tests by Pathcare, tyre checks by Bridgestone, battery checks and emergency items by Autozone and windscreen chip repairs by Glasfit. There will also be lucky draws and prizes to be won and a clown with tricks and balloon sculptures for entertainment for the kids.

Ms. Nomvula Tlale, events and promotional coordinator from the Department of Tourism confirmed that her department endorsed the campaigns of the road safety project and will promote various tourism attractions in the province, motivating motorists to spend more time in the Free State province.
