A 90 year old man has sustained serious injuries after being driven over by a golf cart while lining his shot in a bunker.
The man was allegedly lining his shot after playing into a bunker on the 11th hole of a golf course in Pietermaritzburg. Without warning a golf cart came rolling down the hill and over the elderly man.
ER24 paramedics responded to the scene and found the man in severe pain. He had sustained a deep cut to his left leg as well as a broken leg and suspected broken hip. Paramedics treated the man at the scene before transporting him to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for further care.
