Calf Injured After been Hit By Taxi

[HILLCREST – 03 JANUARY 2012 AT 12H45]

ER24 paramedics were called to a motor vehicle accident on Fisher Road just outside of Hillcrest were a taxi had collided with a calf this afternoon.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the taxi in the middle of the road and the calf just a few meters away. There were only two people in the taxi and they were assessed and it was found they had not suffered any injuries. ER24 paramedics turned their attention to the calf that was lying in the middle of the road and it appeared to be in a lot of pain. The paramedics carefully picked the calf up and placed it onto the stretcher and rushed it off to the Waterfall Veterinary Clinic. Unfortunately, the calf had suffered very critical injuries and passed away at the clinic.

It is believed that the taxi was travelling down Fisher Road towards Hillcrest when the calf walked out of the bush and into the road as the taxi was passing.
