A Honda Ballade rolled on the R60 in the Nuy Valley area, leaving its 5 occupants with various injuries.

It appears that something went wrong with the vehicle forcing the driver to lose control and the car rolled a number of times, first into an embankment and then back down onto the road, coming to rest on its wheels. Fortunately, the occupants must have been wearing seat belts, as they were all found inside the vehicle, 4 of the 5 having suffered relatively minor injuries only. A young mother and father had been sitting in the back seats, with the mom holding her 11 month old little boy. She explained to paramedics that she immediately bent over and protected the child in her lap until the vehicle came to a complete stop. The baby boy had suffered a simple scratch to his arm.

The driver of the car was trapped in his seat as the metal had buckled around him while the vehicle rolles. The Provincial Government Department of Health Emergency Services had used the Jaws of Life to get him out of the vehicle, and he fortunately had sustained only moderate injuries and was in a stable condition.

The mom, dad, their baby and two from occupants were taken per ambulance to the Worcester Provincial Hospital for further assessment and care.
