A 41 year old woman has been critically injured after being knocked by a heavy duty truck on the Umbumbulu Road near Eston this evening.
The woman was allegedly trying to cross the road when the truck was traveling in the direction of Eston from Pietermaritzburg. She was knocked into the tall grass at the side of the road where paramedics found her till lying. She was stabilised by paramedics before her vital functions were taken over by life saving equipment they were using.
The woman had suffered multiple injuries and paramedics rushed her in a critical condition to Greys Hopsital where she would receive further treatment.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the incident.
