7 people have sustained various injuries after a suspected head on collision on the N1 south bound near the Nyl Toll Plaza in Polokwane.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged and there was debris strewn across the road. The cause of the collision remains unclear and will be investigated by all necessary authorities. The VW Jetta was found facing the wrong direction and the front of the vehicle looked like it had been ripped open. 3 people were in the Jetta at the time of the accident and they had suffered moderate to minor injuries.
The Nissan Tida had left the road and was found a few meters in the long grass at the side of the road. Fortunately the 4 occupants were also lucky enough to have come from the accident with moderate to minor injuries only.
All 7 patients were treated on scene and taken to nearby hospitals for further care.
