An accident between two cars at around 14:00, left two people with moderate injuries when the vehicles collided at the corners of Olienhout and Koedo in Kempton Park. The mechanism of how the accident happened is not known, but paramedics treated the occupants of the two vehicles for their injuries and them transported them to hospital for further care.

Another accident in the area, at the corners of Brabazon and Isando in Croydon, at around 17:00 this afternoon, 10 patients were left with minor to moderate injuries.

It is believed that a delivery truck and a Toyota Camry collided, when the Camry then crashed into a taxi causing it to roll. Fortunately all of the patients involved were not badly injured and they were assessed and treated on scene before being taken to hospitals in the surrounding area.

A man in his 50’s has lost his life after his vehicle left the road at around 18:30, and rolled on Snake Road between Pioneer And Main Reef Road in Benoni.

The car landed in the grass on the side of the road on its roof, and the driver and only occupant of the car was ejected. He was found lying near the vehicle with substantial injuries to his entire body. There were no signs of life on initial assessments by paramedics and sadly, the man was already deceased.

There had been no other vehicles involved in the accident and it is unclear as to what caused the man to lose control of the car causing it to roll.

Police who attended each scene will conduct the necessary investigations into the causes of the accidents.
