Eight people have sustained moderate injuries after a Bakkie and a light motor vehicle collided at the intersection of Loop and Retief street in the Pietermaritzburg CBD this evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the bakkie in the middle of the intersection on its side. The light motor vehicle was just a few meters away from the bakkie with extensive front damage.
The seven occupant from the bakkie and the driver of the light motor vehicle were already out of the vehicles and seated on the side of the road. Three women and five men were treated for moderate injuries and taken to Northdale Hospital for further medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
