[Sebokeng 09 March 2012 07:45]

An eight year old little boy has been injured after being knocked down by a car on Randfontein Road outside of Sebokeng this morning.

The little boy was allegedly trying to cross the road when the light motor vehicle knocked him down and he was found lying on the gravel on the side of the road. Paramedics assessed the boy and found that he had sustained moderate injuries including multiple scrapes and bruises to his body and head. He was treated on the scene before being placed on specialised equipment to protect his neck and his back, and his wounds were bandaged. The boy was then loaded into the waiting ambulance and transported through to the Senokeng Provincial Hospital where he will receive further medical care.

The occupants of the vehicle that allegedly knocked the little boy over were not injured in the accident.

Police will be conducting a full investigation into the cause of the incident.
