Seven killed in Limpopo crash as car slams into pedestrians


Seven people were killed when a car slammed into a group of pedestrians in Tshaulu, near Thohoyandou, Limpopo police said on Sunday.

The drivers of two cars were allegedly speeding on Saturday shortly after 5pm when one car veered into a group of pedestrians, spokeswoman Colonel Ronel Otto said.

“Seven people died on the scene and three others were injured. The driver of the car is in hospital under police guard while the other car drove away.”

Police were following up leads and looking for the other driver. A case of culpable homicide was opened.
