[HAMMERSDALE – 06 MARCH 2012 AT 05H45]
A truck accident on the N3 Durban bound before Hammersdale near the BP Oasis has left the driver with moderate injuries this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the truck in the right hand lane of the freeway on its side. The driver was found outside the vehicle sitting on the grass verge. Paramedics assessed the patient and they suspected neck and back injuries and cuts to his arm. He was placed on a specialised board and taken to Hillcrest Private Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
It is believed that the truck may have had some sort of mechanical problems which caused the driver to lose control. The right hand lane was closed to traffic for salvaging.
