19 April 2012 – 16 School Children Injured in Taxi Collision

[ROSETTA – NOTTINGHAM] – Sixteen school children were injured when two taxis collided on the R103 near Rosetta in Nottingham this morning.

Shortly after 07:30 paramedics arrived on the scene and found that both taxis transported children between the ages of nine and seventeen years old. It is understood that they were on their way to school when the incident occurred.

Paramedics from ER24 treated and transported eleven children with various injuries to Brandville and Greys Hospital. The other children were also assessed and treated on the scene before being transported by other local services to hospital.

The exact cause is not yet known. A bystander explained that the two taxis collided head on with each other sending them in different directions.
