18 year old biker’s life of saved by paramedics

Paramedics responded to the call of a motorbike accident that had taken place on Farraday Boulevard in Vanderbijlpark.

When they arrived at the scene they saw a crumpled and broken motorbike,with the rider lying approximately 15 meters away on the road side. The young man was in a critical condition and paramedics immediately initiated Advanced Life Support treatment.

While they were trying to stabilise his already extremely critical condition, his condition deteriorated further and resuscitation efforts were started. Fortunately, his condition stabilised and pulses returned a short while later. The 18 year old was then loaded into the waiting ambulance for transport to Mediclinic Emfuleni.

The young man was handed over to hospital staff in a critical condition.

The two occupants that were traveling in the light motor vehicle that the bike crashed into the side of, were fortunately not injured and after assessment by paramedics, they decided that they did not require transportation to hospital by ambulance.
