Shortly before 3pm this afternoon, Kimberley paramedics were called out to a serious accident on the R357 (Douglas Road), approximately 25 kilometers outside of the town of Kimberley.

A single vehicle accident took place, where a VW Citi Golf had rolled off the road. The vehicle was found with extensive damage, having rolled approximately 200 meters from the road into the field at the roadside. The reason as to the driver allegedly losing control of the vehicle is snot yet know and will need to be investigated by the local authorities.

Paramedics arrived at the scene to find all four occupants of the Golf outside the vehicle, after they had allegedly been flung from the vehicle as it rolled. A 13 year old girl was found lying nearby, having suffered severe and extensive injuries. Sadly, there was nothing further paramedics could do for her as initial assessments proved that she had already succumbed to her injuries prior to their arrival. She was declared deceased at the scene.

Two women and a man had suffered moderate to serious injuries. they were all treated for their injuries by paramedics before being transported to a local private hospital for further care.
