Most extensive PG Glass Safer than Safe campaign yet for Easter Holidays

The most extensive PG Glass Safer than Safe campaign yet is to take place during the forthcoming holidays, starting with the Easter weekend and lasting until early May.
The project is to be rolled out countrywide at seven locations on the N1, N2, N4 and N7 highways.

Bernice Bailey, Marketing Director of PG Glass, says the great success of last year’s Easter project on the N4 prompted them to grow it substantially.

“The result was a very low emergency incident and accident rate within the project’s focus area. There were no serious injuries, nor fatalities.”

Facilitating Safer than Safe, PG Glass teams up with the SA Police Service, provincial and municipal traffic departments, emergency services, other sponsors, radio stations and other media to communicate the road safety message intensively to road users.

The project starts off with a promotion on 5, 6 and 9 April at the Shell Ultra City Middelburg (eastbound) on the N4 to Maputo, and another on 5 April at the Klawer Weighbridge near Vredendal on the N7.

On 26 April the scene moves to the N1 at Bloemfontein, and on 28 April to the N2 at Storms River.

Both Mossel Bay on the N2 and Kranskop on the N1 get their turn on 30 April, with the Kranskop promotion continuing until 1 May.
Grahamstown on the N2 will host a PG Glass Safer than Safe promotion on 1 May as well, and a last one is planned for the N2 at Hermanus early in May. The date has still to be confirmed.

Bailey says that by expanding the project PG Glass hopes that the rest of the country can share in the success achieved on the N4 last Easter.

“PG Glass is committed to reduce the number of accidents, injuries and fatalities and making South Africa’s roads generally a safer place to be.”

PG Glass will once again do free windscreen chip repairs at these promotions.
