[DURBAN – 28 APRIL 2012 AT 22H10]
A truck driver is in a critical condition after the vehicle he was travelling in over turned on the M7 east bound in the left hand lane before the Belville Road on ramp near Malvern this evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the articulated truck lying on its side in the left hand lane of the freeway. The container from the truck was found in the centre medium. The driver was found outside of his vehicle believed to have been ejected from the cabin at the time of the accident. Paramedics assessed him and found that he was in a critical condition. He had suffered a head injury and needed rapid Advanced Life Support intervention. Once he was stabilised further he was transported to Life Entabeni Hospital in a critical condition where trauma staff were waiting to take over the medical care.
It is unclear at this moment what may have happen but the necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
