Two vehicles collided at the corners of Broadway Boulevard and Sarel Cilliers Street in Strand this afternoon.
An MPV landed on the drivers side after what appeared to have been a side impact and partial head on collision with a Honda hatchback. The passenger sitting in the front of the MPV was partially ejected, and paramedics found him on top of the vehicle which was lying on its side. He had suffered moderate injuries. The driver of the MPV had suffered fortunately only minor injuries despite the vehicle lying on the driver’s side.
The woman in her 30’s driving the hatchback had suffered severe injuries and she was rapidly taken to Mediclinic Vergelegen by ambulance for further care while paramedics stabilised her en route.
The cause of the accident is not yet clear and will be investigated by the necessary authorities.
