A cyclist has died this morning following an incident on the N2, Lagoon road, in Knysna.
The cause of the incident is unclear at this stage, but a Volkswagen Polo was driving on the road when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle in heavy rain. The vehicle then collided with a cyclist who was riding at the side of the road.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the male cyclist, believed to be aged in his 20’s, still in the road. The man had sustained various fatal injuries. Unfortunately the cyclist was later declared dead at the scene. The driver of the polo sustained minor injuries in the collision and recieved treatment at the scene before being transported to hospital by another ambulance service.
Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
