Four people have died and approximately 80 injured in KwaDabeka bus crash

Four people have died and approximately 80 others sustained various injuries following a bus accident in KwaDabeka this afternoon.

What exactly caused the accident is unclear at this stage, but the bus had allegedly veered out of control coming down a hill on the KwaDabeka main road. The bus then overturned multiple times before coming to a standstill after colliding with a house. The bus is alleged to have had 90 passengers at the time of the accident.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they could see that collision was severe as various passengers had been ejected from the bus as it overturned. The bus was on its roof and pinned next to a house. Four people were found to have sustained various fatal injuries and were later declared dead at the scene.

Two other patients sustained serious injuries. The remaining 80 patients received treatment at the scene for injuries ranging from scrapes and bruises, suspected back and neck injuries to various broken bones.

Various Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and all the patients received treatment at the scene before being transported to various medical facilities by various ambulance services. Law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
