School Girl Knocked Down On South Coast Road

[MEREWENT, KZN – 29 MAY 2012 AT 08H00]

A school girl believed to be seven years of age is in a critical condition after she was knocked down by a light motor vehicle on South Coast Road near to the Merewent Train Station this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the girl lying in the road in a pool of blood and in a critical condition. The light motor vehicle was just a few meters away with extensive damage to the front. The paramedics assessed the little girl and found that she had a suspected head injury and a broken leg. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on her and transported her to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
