A taxi has overturned on the N3 north bound between Paradise Valley and the M7, leaving twelve people injured this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the taxi lying on its side, facing oncoming traffic in the right hand lane. The commuters from the taxi were found seated on the floor and on the Armco barrier. Paramedics assessed the patient and found that two people had suffered serious injuries and ten other patients had suffered minor to moderate injuries. Amongst the twelve injured was a three month old baby. The baby had minor cuts to the face and arms. All patients were treated on scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

It is believed that the driver of the taxi somehow collided with a light motor vehicle, causing him to lose control and over turn. The right hand lane of the freeway was blocked to traffic due to the accident. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
