A female driver sustained some injuries this morning following a single vehicle collision on the N3 highway in Pietermaritzburg.
The cause of the collision is unclear at this stage, but the female driver, aged 20, had allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then overturned before crashing through the centre median.
ER24 paramedics who later arrived at the scene found the woman still in the vehicle. Paramedics extricated the patient from the vehicle before treating her at the scene for suspected back and neck injuries.
She was later transported to the Edendale hospital for further medical care.
