Four injured in Polokwane head on collision

Paramedics and Rescue Services were called out to an accident on the Tzaneen Bypass near Tzaneen Road where two bakkies collided head on.

The Hilux came to rest on the side of the road, lying on the passenger side. One man was trapped in the vehicle and paramedics had to stabilise the man inside the wreck while Rescue Services assisted in making it possible for him to be removed.

In total, four men around the age of 40, two traveling in each vehicle, were treated for various injuries. The man who was trapped had suffered the most severe injuries including broken bones. The other three men were treated for back and neck injuries as well as multiple scrapes and bruises. They were all transported to the Polokwane Provincial Hospital for further care.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the local authorities.
