Motorcyclist dies in Parys Road collision

[Potchefstroom, NW 15 June 2012 06:30]

A 32 year old man was killed after he collided with a truck while on his motorbike on the Parys road at the Vanderbijlpark crossing outside of Potchesfstroom this morning.

Paramedics on scene found the man lying in the road and he was in a very critical condition. They immediately started resuscitation efforts on the man, but his injuries were too severe and despite all of their efforts to revive the man he died at the scene due to extensive injuries.

It is believed that he had tried to avoid the collision with the truck, which appeared to have been trying to turn from the road and the motorcyclist then skidded out and crashed into the truck.

The details surrounding the exact cause of the incident will need to be investigated by the police who attended the scene.
