[WESTVILLE, KZN – 11 JUNE 2012 AT 09H00]
One person is in a serious condition after a delivery vehicle collided into the back of a truck on Booth road near to Spine Road in Westville this morning.
ER24 and emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the delivery vehicle had crashed into the back of the truck on the passenger side. The driver of the vehicle was out and walking around but the passenger was entrapped and in a serious condition. The Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life and other rescue equipment to extricate the patient from the vehicle. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient before he was removed from the vehicle. He was stabilised further and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
