The vehicle was travelling on Marina Street from the direction of Zandspruit when it approached the intersection to the R114. The vehicle then appears to not have been able to stop at the T-Junction and it crossed over it and rolled into veld.
A man was found to have been ejected and he had landed underneath the vehicle. He had suffered multiple injuries and was still stuck underneath the vehicle when paramedics and rescuers arrived. There was nothing more that could be done for him and he was declared dead on scene.
A second occupant also in his 20’s and also ejected from the vehicle as it rolled, was found to have sustained serious injuries. He had multiple broken bones but was in a stable condition. He was treated for his injuries and taken to Helen Joseph Hospital for further care.
It is believed that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
