Brothers Killed In Curry’s Post Accident

[CURRY’S POST, KZN – 22 JULY 2012 AT 09H00]

Two brothers believed to be in their twenties have been killed and the younger brother believed to be in his teens is in a serious condition after the bakkie they were in left the road and rolled down an embankment off Curry’s Post and landing into a river this morning.

ER24 paramedics from Pietermaritzburg arrived on the scene and found the bakkie lying in the river upside down. The one patient was found half way out of the vehicle but he had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene. The other two patients were inside the bakkie. Paramedics had to break a window to gain access into the vehicle. They found the one brother had suffered very traumatic and fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene. The younger brother was freed and found he had suspected neck and back injuries and had signs of hypothermia. He was stabilised on scene and transported to Northdale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg for further medical care.

The circumstances around the accident are not clear but the local authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
