Taxi Accident Leaves Four Dead

[KWA MASHU, KZN – 31 JULY 2012 AT 13H30]

A taxi travelling along the M25 has over turned near Idube Village, leaving four people dead and seven with serious injuries this afternoon.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the taxi on its wheels in the road, with the commuters strewn across the M25, indicating that the taxi had rolled and ejected the commuters in to the road. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that four patients had already succumbed to their injuries and were declared deceased on scene. The remaining seven patients had suspected neck and back injuries and possible broken bones with multiple cuts and abrasions. They were stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals for further medical care.

The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further. The road was closed for a short period while paramedics treated the patients.
