A taxi traveling along Edendale Road near to Campsdrift in Pietermaritzburg, lost control and over turned, leaving eighteen people injured this evening.
ER24 and other emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the taxi on its side and blocking the road. The passengers had already climbed out the vehicle and were found seated on the road side next to the over turned taxi.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that three people had sustained suspected neck and back injuries and the remaining fifteen patients had sustained minor abrasions and cuts. They were stabilised on scene and transported to Edendale Hospital for further medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
