Truck Driver Crashes Into Tree near Pinetown

[PINETOWN, KZN – 26 JULY 2012 AT 16H00]

A truck driver believed to be in his late forties has sustained minor to moderate injuries after losing control of his vehicle on Old Main Road heading towards the M7 from the Pinetown direction, leaving the road and collided with a tree before coming to a stop a few meters away.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the driver seated on the floor near to the truck. They assessed him and found that he had sustained minor abrasions to his legs and hands. He was treated on scene and taken to R K Khans Hospital for further medical care.

It is believed that the driver lost control in the corner as he was coming down the road due to some sort of mechanical problem. The driver is extremely luck that he was no entrapped in the cabin due to the accident as there was extensive damage to the body of the truck and cabin.

The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
