Truck Driver Killed In Carletonville

[CARLETONVILLE, GP – 31 JULY 2012 AT 12H10]

A truck has over turned in Western Deep Levels, Carletonville while going around a traffic circle. The incident has left one person dead and two others injured with various injuries this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene with the local provincial ambulance service and found the truck on its side with the contents it was carry blocking the lanes. The driver who was still entrapped inside the cabin was assessed and found that he had sustained very traumatic and fatal injuries. He was declared deceased on scene. The two other occupants of the vehicle a male and female were found lying in the grass next to the vehicle. The female had a suspected neck and back injuries with a possible concussion. The other patient had minor cuts and abrasions to his body. They were stabilised on scene and transported to Potchefstroom Hospital for further medical care.

The circumstances around the accident are not clear but the local laws enforcement authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
