Father And Son Escape With Moderate Injuries as vehicle crashes into Armco barrier

[KLOOF, KZN – 21 AUGUST 2012 AT 08H00]

A driver and passenger have sustained moderate injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and into an Armco barrier on the M13 Fields Hill in the direction of Kloof this morning.

ER24 paramedics from Hillcrest arrived on scene and found the vehicle in the centre medium of the road and wedged onto the Armco barrier. The passenger and driver were mechanical entrapped inside the vehicle but paramedics were able to free them using the back door of the vehicle. Once freed, the patients were assessed and treated for moderate injuries and then transported to Hillcrest Private Hospital for further medical intervention.

It is believed that the driver lost control due to the wet and misty conditions but the local authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further.
