A truck driver believed to be in his 30’s was killed this afternoon on the M13 near the Acacia off ramp in Hillcrest when his truck crashed down an embankment.
Bystanders explained to paramedics that it appeared as if the interlink truck suddenly started to swerve and ploughed through the Armco barrier next to the road before coming to rest against trees on the embankment.
Paramedics that arrived on the scene found the truck on its side with the driver still trapped in the cab of the truck. He sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in this incident. The exact cause of this incident is not yet known and will be investigated by the local authorities.
