[HILLCREST, KZN – 24 AUGUST 2012 AT 13H30]
A pedestrian believed to be in his early fifties is in a critical condition after been knocked down by a delivery vehicle on Inanda Road in Hillcrest this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the road near to the verge. Paramedics assessed the patient and found he was in a critical condition. The patient had a suspected head injury and suspected internal injuries. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient to help stabilise him further.
The Red Cross Air Mercy Helicopter was called to the scene to help airlift the patient to Addington Hospital for rapid medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further. Traffic was affected while the Medicopter was landing on the scene.
