A pedestrian believed to be in his early thirties has lost his life after been knocked down in an alleged hit and run on the N1 direction Cape Town in Kraaifontein this evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the emergency lane of the freeway and unresponsive. Paramedics assessed the patient and found he had sustained very traumatic injuries and needed Advanced Life Support intervention to be performed.
Paramedics tried to save the patients life but passed away on scene due to the very traumatic injuries he had sustained from the incident.
It is believed that the pedestrian was knocked over by a truck that was traveling along the N1. ER24 paramedics found the patient in the emergency lane underneath a pedestrian foot bridge.
The local authorities will investigate the incident further.
