Three people sustained injuries this morning following a two vehicle collision on the N1, M5 interchange, near Paarden Eiland.
The exact cause of the collision is unclear at this stage, but a BMW had rear ended the vehicle in front of it. When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found that the female driver in the rear vehicle had sustained minor injuries only.
There were two male occupants in the front vehicle. Both men had sustained serious injuries to their legs in the form of broken bones as well as suspected back and neck injuries. Paramedics treated the men at the scene before transporting them to a nearby medical facility for further care.
Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the cause of the collision further.
