A 14 year old girl has sustained serious injuries after being struck by a car on Claremont boulevard this afternoon.
The events leading up to the incident is unclear at this stage, but ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene to find the girl lying in the road. The girl had sustained a serious injury to her head as well as suspected back and neck injuries.
Advanced Life Support treatment was administered to the girl by on scene paramedics. She was later rapidly transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for further care. Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
