[BLUFF, KZN – 18 SEPTEMBER 2012 AT 15H30]
A driver of a BMW believed to be in his mid thirties is in a serious condition after colliding with a truck at the intersection of Bluff and Lansdowne Road on the Bluff this afternoon.
ER24 and EMRS arrived on the scene and found the BMW with extensive damage to the vehicle still in the road with the driver still inside. The truck was a few meters behind the car blocking two of the lanes. Paramedics assessed the driver and found he was in a serious condition due to the traumatic injuries he had sustained to his arm. They also suspected neck and back injuries. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient before he was extricated from the vehicle and taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
The circumstances around the accident would be investigated by the local law enforcement authorities that were on the scene.
