Cyclist collides head first with a brick wall while cycling in Camps Bay

[CAMPS BAY, WC, 16 September 2012, 10:30]

A male cyclist has sustained some injuries this morning after colliding head first with a brick wall while cycling in Camps Bay.

The exact cause of the incident is unclear, but the male cyclist was riding on his bicycle when he allegedly lost control of the bike and collided with a roadside curb. The cyclist was catapulted over the handlebars and collided head first with a brick wall.

ER24 paramedics later arrived at the scene and found the cyclist surrounded by a group of concerned friends who he was practicing with at the time. Paramedics treated the man, believed to be aged in his mid 30’s, for suspected back, neck and head injuries before transporting him to a nearby medical facility.
