Do not let driver distractions delay your reaction time on the road!

We have given much attention to the dangers of driver distractions. These include texting while driving, chatting on our cellular phones or even conversations with passengers. The road safety experts also tell us to remain alert and vigilant for any potential emergency. What we do not discuss as often is the impact of driver distractions on the reaction time of the driver.

We added a new section to the Arrive Alive website yesterday titled “Brakes /Braking and Road Safety”. In this section we highlight the factors which determine braking distance  – and one of these factors is driver reaction time!

To avoid collisions we need to make swift and safe decisions  – and we will only be able to do so if we are fully focused on the roads and other road users!

We would like to urge drivers to be alert and to avoid having their reaction times impaired by driver distractions.
