Five vehicles collide leaving 13 injured in Risidale

[Risidale, GP 25 September 2012 10:00]

Thirteen people have been injured in a collision involving a Toyota Quantum, Toyota Hi Ace, VW Polo, Opel Astra and a Mercedes C Class sedan. It is not yet clear as to how the five vehicles collided, but it appears that the two taxis crashed into one another in a side impact collision, while the Polo crashed into them and the Astra and Mercedes collided head on.

Paramedics arrived on scene at the corners of Beyers Naude and Vincent/Waugh, to find that thirteen people needed treatment for various injuries. One of the patients in the Hi Ace was in a critical condition and the Advanced Life Support paramedic initiated treatment on the patient.

All of the patients were assessed thoroughly for their injuries after which their received the appropriate treatment and were then transported by ambulance to hospitals in the area.

The road remains closed for a short time while the vehicles are being removed.
