Municipal Workers Injured After Truck Overturns

[St Winifreds – 14 September 2012 at 13H00]

Three municipal works have been injured after the truck they were in overturned on Akker Road in St Winifreds this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics and the local Fire Department arrived on the scene to find the municipal truck lying on its side, on the embankment with the three workers  seated on the floor.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the one worker was complaining of neck and back pains. He was placed on a Specialised board to prevent any further injuries. The other two patients had sustained minor injuries. All patients were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

It is believed that the driver lost control of the truck as the vehicle went up a hill and rolled back. The truck went off the road and over turned destroying a street pole in the accident.
