A twelve year old boy is in a serious condition after been knocked down by a Bakkie on Edendale Road near to the BP Garage in the direction of Pietermaritzburg this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the pupil lying on the pavement with the Bakkie just a few meters away. The patient was assessed and found he had a suspected broken leg and suspected neck and back injuries. He was stabilised on scene and transported to Edendale Hospital for further medical care.
It is believed that the driver lost control and drove onto the pavement and knocked the pupil over. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
