11 commuters injured in taxi accident in Waterfall

[Waterfall, KZN – 21 October 2012 at 12H30]

Eleven commuters on their way home from church were injured after the taxi they were in veered off the road and collided with a light pole before coming to a halt up against a fence off a side road running off Fisher Road in Waterfall this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found them all seated on the road a few meters from the accident. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the commuters had sustained minor cuts, abrasions and general body pains. They were stabilised on scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
It is believed that the driver had some sort of mechanical problem when coming down the road, causing him to lose control and go off the road.
