AutoZone announces supplier awards for 2012

This year, AutoZone’s Annual Supplier Awards Dinner was held at The Grillhouse in Rosebank. It is the second year that the event has taken place.

The awards dinner is exclusive to the Top 10 achievers, held in recognition of suppliers’ overall performance and contribution to the AutoZone business.

Suppliers are measured on the following criteria, based on a weighted matrix:

• BBBEE rating;
• EDI;
• Units sales growth;
• Availability;
• Overall Relationships
• Additional predetermined metrics

The winners for the 2011 / 2012 period were:

• 1st Overall – Sabat Batteries, supplied by Powertech
• 2nd Overall – GUD Filters
• 3rd Overall – NGK Spark Plugs
• Most Improved Supplier of the Year – Robert Bosch
• Best Housebrands Supplier – Spirex Batteries, supplied by Powertech
