Three people and two dogs have been killed in an alleged head on collision involving two light motor vehicles on the N1 south bound about 20km outside of Bloemfontein in the direction of Edenburg this morning.
ER24 and the local Provincial service arrived on the scene and found the two vehicles, a VW and a Mercedes still on the road but with extensive damage to both vehicles.
Paramedics assessed the occupants of both vehicles and found that the driver of the Mercedes and the driver and passenger of the VW had already succumbed to their injuries and were declared deceased on the scene. The paramedics also found two dogs inside the VW and they had been killed in the impact.
It is believed that the two occupants of the VW were brothers. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
